The whole history of cosmonautics in one place

Somehow it happened that I visited Kaluga in sufficient regularity, usually either passing through some of the local estate. or just cases.

Never got to walk around the city, and even more so to see the State Museum of the history of cosmonautics named after K. E. Tsiolkovsky. But once again it so happened that I had to go to Kaluga for one printing, meaning we had to ride 100 miles for 5 minutes. In the end, as in Kaluga, I got the idea to finally carry out his wish.

The state Museum of the history of cosmonautics named after K. E. Tsiolkovsky in Kaluga — the world’s first and Russia’s largest space Museum. In its creation participated personally famous designer Korolev and Yuri Gagarin. Last June 13, 1961 laid the first stone in the Foundation of the future Museum:

And after 6 years, the new Museum welcomed its first visitors. In the Museum you can get acquainted with the domestic history of cosmonautics, from the first artificial satellite of the Earth to modern long-term orbital stations. However, many of the original machines that had been in space you can see with your own eyes. Continue reading

The principle of operation

Obviously, enough people settled on the planet. Now he rushes into space to other planets, other worlds. Me some time ago, suddenly puzzled question that, maybe, the desire to space as it is genetically built into the human population. Give this thought to those who insist on the theory of extraterrestrial origin of life. Perhaps this is an argument in the dispute. Life originated in space and was for the planet entered, so man tends back. The truth is, other living creatures, tearing at the limits of Earthly comfort I do not know.

One way or another, but wanting to hit the road for a week not in Komarovo, and the ISS, among the millionaires abound. It is a pity that the station still more and to carry back only the tourists are not going. Today for money on the ISS managed to get only five people. The other fly to work. This is a troublesome thing – busy with tourists, but as it turned out very favorable.

Space, generally, requires a lot of money. Considering that not every person can afford to buy a car, it to deal with space transportation passengers can afford not every rich country. Probably, for this reason, we seek cheaper ways of delivering goods or passengers to low earth orbit. Continue reading

Space tourism and the collapse of the White Knight

Space tourism. History and prospects.

On Friday, 31 October, disaster struck the American private spacecraft Space Ship Two. This is the news went around all the news channels of the world. One of the two pilots managed to eject.

What kind of project passenger space ship Space Ship spaceship and carrier White Knight ?

For the first time the issue of commercialization of space missions was raised as far back as 1967, the Americans. But the idea found no support in the state. Space flights were very hazardous and the road.

However, in 1996, well-known, tireless designer, inventor and pilot Bert Rutana was established by a private design company to create space, passenger craft reusable. Commercial use of space travel received a new impetus. The concept of “space tourism” takes on a new, broader meaning. Of course, later were space tourists. They were sent to the Mir station, the Russian Soyuz spacecraft. But, first of all, it cost millions of dollars, and secondly, these were isolated cases, and on tourism, in a broad sense, could not be and speeches. The program was funded by large companies or the flight was paid for by private individuals. Continue reading
