Model of the Solar system

Solar system is a system of planets orbiting around a star, the Sun. Among those planets is our Earth. The solar System consists of the sun and of celestial bodies held by solar gravity. The mass of the sun is about 330 000 times the mass of the earth and makes up 99.8% mass entire solar system. The diameter of the sun is 1 400 000 km, i.e. about 109 Earth diameters. In the solar system except the sun is made up of eight planets, over 150 moons, and small bodies such as asteroids, comets and meteors.

In order of proximity to the Sun, the eight planets are mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

To measure distances in the solar system is used “astronomical unit” (AU). One AU corresponds to the distance from the earth to the Sun. Thus, the distance of one AU is nearly 150 million kilometers. For example, Jupiter rotates on its orbit 5.2 AU, i.e. the distance from the Sun is 5.2 times larger than the Earth. Continue reading

The most important mysteries of the solar system

The earth is the home of humankind. Can be considered and the Solar system. After all, we already went to the moon, our spacecraft has reached other planets. It would seem that about the area of Land we need to know everything.

Actually mankind for decades trying to unravel such close and such mysterious phenomena. Describe below of the top ten mysteries of the Solar system.

The Oort Cloud. The main issue regarding this site is that whether there is any? This is perhaps the chief mystery of our Solar system. Scientists have suggested the existence of clouds only hypothetically, but this piece of the Universe no one has seen. The theories then formed comets with long orbital period. Scientists can only assume that the Oort cloud is at a distance of 50-100 thousand.e. from the Sun. The bounds of this object lying on the very edge of the Solar system. The billions of bodies are from the cloud is bound by gravity to the Sun. Continue reading

Solar system

The science of studying celestial bodies and the Universe, astronomy . is one of the most important, since the beginning of time and reveals the secrets of our planet, Solar system and the Universe. The solar system consists of the Sun and many other celestial bodies that revolve around the Sun. It is located in Orion, one of the outer arm of the milky Way galaxy . the sleeves of these zones, which are characterized by a low density of matter.

What is in our Solar system?

In our solar system, you can find the planets mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, and their satellites.

In the beginning, people thought that our planet Earth is in the center of the Universe, and the Sun, the stars revolve around the Earth. Copernicus, born in 1473, was the first person who proved that the Earth together with other planets of our solar system revolve around the Sun. Continue reading
