The largest planet of the Universe
Our universe is huge, and it seems to us that more of the globe there can be nothing, but it is not. There are planets much larger and more massive. For the whole of the Universe our Earth is just a grain of sand lost in her. The solar system is only one element of the Galaxy. The sun is the main component of the Galaxy. Eight planets revolve around the Sun. And only ninth – Pluto – due to its gravitational forces and the mass deduced from the list of rotating planets. Each planet has its own parameters, density, temperature. There are those that are composed of gas, there are giant, small, hot, cold, dwarf.
So what is the biggest planet known at the moment? In the spring of 2006 an event occurred that shook the theory about the heavenly bodies. In Rovellasca Observatory (USA, Arizona) in the constellation of Hercules was discovered a huge planet beyond our Earth twenty times. Existing outdoor today it is the largest planet in the Universe. She’s hot and like the Sun, but it’s still a planet. It was called TrES–4. Its dimensions exceed the dimensions of the largest planets in the solar system – Jupiter – 1.7 times. It is a giant gaseous ball. Is TrES–4 primarily of hydrogen. The largest planet is making revolutions around the star, which is located at a distance of 1400 light years. Temperaturnyi on its surface is more than 1260 degrees.
There are enough giant planets, but so far not openly bigger than TrES-4b. The largest planet size exceeds Jupiter more than 70%. A huge gas giant could be called a star, but its rotation around its star GSC02620-00648 definitely relates it to the planetary celestial bodies. As reported by the responsible officer of the Observatory G. Mandushev, the planet is more gaseous than solid, and it could be located. Its density ranges from 0.2 g per cubic centimeter, which is comparable only with balsa (balsa) wood. Scientists and astronomers are baffled: how is this the largest planet with such a low density has the ability to exist. Planet TrES-4 is also called TrES-4b. His discovery was due to the astronomers-fans that discovered TrES-4 with a network of small automated telescopes located in the Canary Islands and in Arizona.
The pioneers were employees of Lowell, and later, the astronomers of Harvard University and the Hawaiian W. M. Keck Observatory confirmed the discovery. Scientists Libellously Observatory there is an assumption that the largest planet is TrES-4 is not the only in this constellation, and that it is possible in the constellation Hercules may be another planet. Staff Lowell in 1930 revealed the smallest planet in the Solar system – Pluto. However, in 2006 Pluto, compared to the giant TrES-4, became known as a dwarf planet.
